For years, the DeLuz’ have enjoyed many vibrant political debates at our family gatherings. Most of these discussions have featured the musings of two of Sacramento’s leading community activists and political figures; David & Craig DeLuz.
David De Luz, describes himself as a progressive Democrat. Craig on the other hand is a conservative Republican and has focused his volunteer activities on more conservative efforts. Their diverse perspectives and brotherly bond brinngs an interesting twist to the discussion of cultural, political and social issues of the day.
Born in the Bay Area, These twin brothers grew up in a working-class household, where their father, John DeLuz, was a warehouse supervisor, and their mother, El Vera, took care of them and their four other brothers and sisters. Their parents were dedicated to making ends meet for their family, and taught them the value of honesty, hard work, and cooperation.
Their sibling rivalry led them to often wind up on the opposite sides of things. When they went to college, Craig would head north to California State University at Chico, while David would go south to CalPoly San Luis Obisbo. They would even wind up joining rival fraternaties. They even follow rival football teams.
But both brothers acknowledege that their competion with one another has been a driving force in their success. They have pushed and encouraged one another to achieve great things for themselves and their community. And today, Craig and David arre widely recognized as leaders throughout the Sacramento Region.
For years the DeLuz Brothers have been a staple in Sacramento area media. They have been featured in print, television and radio, including the Sacramento Bee, KCRA Channel 3, Talk 650's Armstrong & Getty Show and the Eric Houge Show on AM 1380 KTKZ.
